Dr. Yang is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Center for Climate Systems Research (CCSR) at the Columbia Climate School of Columbia University. His research focuses on studying the agricultural and hydrological processes from regional to global scales through coupling crop model – DSSAT and land surface model – LIS with remote sensing data assimilation, to facilitate accurate crop productivity and water resources forecasts and projections. His research interests also include Genetics x Management x Environment impacts, Water-Energy-Food Nexus, Hydrological modeling, and AI applications.
Prior to joining CCSR in 2023, Dr. Yang worked at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS), Cornell University as a Postdoctoral Associate from 2021 to 2023. He completed his Ph.D. in the Department of Environmental Engineering at the University of Connecticut in 2021.
